General Rules - 20121. Venues: a) Sessions are held at the Riverway Arts Centre, Townsville, Queensland, Australia. b) Rehearsal space is provided for out-of-town participants and for all participants for a warm-up. c) School Ensembles Section is held at Riverway Arts Centre. d) The Gala Finals Concert is held at the Riverway Arts Centre.

venue, copyright and privacy laws. 2. Accompanists: a) Pianos will be used for all accompaniments. Two grand pianos are provided. b) Participants should indicate the name of their accompanist on the Entry Form so that they can be acknowledged in the Official Program. This can be changed by contacting the Secretary to arrange substitution. c) If an Official Accompanist is required, a non-refundable deposit of Aus$50 is requested to cover costs involved in engaging an accompanist, and a properly prepared score for the accompanist should accompany the Entry Form. This deposit will be paid to your accompanist who will then deduct this amount from agreed accompanying fees for rehearsals & performance. d) Should Official Accompanist be already known to participants, then responsibility for arrangements may be left to those concerned and the name of the accompanist indicated on the Entry Form as per 2b). e) AC&V Competition is responsible for engaging official accompanists and for the cost of their travel and accommodation. f) 2012 Official Accompanists are Maryleigh Hand (Sydney), specialist vocal accompanist; Mitchell Leigh (Brisbane); Rhodri Clarke (Melbourne), all professional accompanists of proven ability in this situation. 3. Adjudication and Results: a) Playing from memory is optional b) A score is required for use by the adjudicator and must be submitted with your Entry Form, marking any cuts on the copy. Please do not use staples. c) At the end of each section, the adjudicator will give a brief report on the performances and will announce the prize winners. d) Written reports on individual performances will be given to each performer at the conclusion of the relevant sections. e) The committee does not keep copies of adjudication reports. f) The adjudicator may withhold prizes should the standard be considered insufficient. 4. Entry Fees a) Entries for more than one section must be submitted on separate entry forms. Additional entry forms may be photocopied. b) Entries must be accompanied by the correct entry fee and copy of score for adjudicator, copy and deposit for the Official Accompanist. c) Entries must be submitted on or before Wednesday 6th June 2012. d) Definitely no late entries will be accepted. e) Entry Fees are non-refundable f) Section 1 – Open Aus $85 g) Section 2 - Open Ensembles Aus $75 h) Section 3 - Vocal Aus $65 i) Section 4 - Piano & Instrumental Aus $55 j) Section 5 - Young Performer Soloists Aus $25

Age Restrictions. a) There are no age restrictions on Sections 1/2/3/4 b) Sections 5 and 6 must be attending school. 6. Music Scores a) Copies may be bound, or be in a folder. No staples. Indicate orchestra cuts. Original music to be collected immediately following conclusion of section. 7. Ensemble Sections a) Players may perform in more than one group.
